The start of March brings about several video game releases from popular series such as "The Legend of Zelda," "Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon" and "Mass Effect." These games run the gamut from role-playing to action-adventure and open-world tactical shooter genres. Listed below are some of the cool video games to check out this month.
Five Exciting Video Games To Check Out In March:
1. "I Am Setsuna"
The first game on our list is "I Am Setsuna," a Japanese role-playing game set in a land that experiences an unceasing winter. It is about a mercenary and "Setsuna," a maiden under his protection. Sadness is the main theme of this game and it uses an "Active Time Battle" system similar to early "Final Fantasy" games and "Chrono Trigger," which is a big influence on this game. Published by Square Enix and developed by Tokyo RPG Factory, "I Am Setsuna" was released worldwide for Nintendo Switch on March 3.
2. "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild"
The latest entry from "The Legend of Zelda" series is "Breath of the Wild." It is an action-adventure game featuring Link, the protagonist of "The Legend of Zelda" series of video games. Link has slept for a hundred years but has been awakened by a mysterious voice. The game also introduces some features that differ from previous games in the Zelda series, such as an open-world environment where players are free to explore at their own pace.
"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" was published and developed by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch and Wii U game consoles. It was released on March 3.
3. "Nier: Automata"
"Nier: Automata" is an action role-playing game that is set in the same universe as "Nier," the PS3 and Xbox 360 game that was released back in 2010, which itself was a spinoff of the "Drakengard" series. "Nier: Automata" is set at an unknown time after "Nier" and focuses on the battle between humanity’s remnants and the machine army of alien invaders.
"Nier: Automata" was published by Square Enix and developed by PlatinumGames for Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 4. It was released for PlayStation 4 in North America on March 7 and it will be released in Europe on March 10. The video game will also be released worldwide for Microsoft Windows on March 17.
4. "Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands"
The open-world tactical shooter video game "Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands" is the latest game in the "Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon" franchise and will be the 10th entry in the series. It is also the first game in the series to feature an open world environment, and will reportedly be similar to the first "Ghost Recon," which takes place in a modern-day setting as opposed to the more futuristic setting of "Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter."
"Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands" was developed by Ubisoft Paris. It was released on March 7.
5. "Mass Effect: Andromeda"
The "Mass Effect" series of action role-playing shooter games is back with its latest installment "Mass Effect: Andromeda." Players can take control of either Sara or Scott Ryder, the game’s main characters. The story takes place during the events of "Mass Effect 2" and "Mass Effect 3."
"Mass Effect: Andromeda" will be released in North America on March 21. It will also be released in Europe on March 23.
