The Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) rebounded on Monday, April 3 with an increase of 0.41 percent. The PSE All Shares index also went up by  0.31 percent. Read on to learn more about it. 

Here are three things to know about the stock market's rebound on Monday:

1. The PSEi finished at 7,341.65 points.

The PSEi gained 29.93 points, or 0.41 percent to close at 7,341.65 level, according to the Philippine Stock Exchange's (PSE) Daily Quotations Report yesterday. Meanwhile, the broader PSE All Shares index also went up by 0.31 percent or 13.71 points. It closed at 4,413.42 points on Monday. 

"Philippine markets got off to a fresh start in [the second quarter], and were undeterred that the major US stock averages ended the session lower on Friday," BusinessWorld Online reported Luis Limlingan, Regina Capital Development Corp Managing Director, as saying in an e-mail.

2. There were 99 advancers and 81 decliners.

According to the PSEi chart, decliners were at 81, while advancing stocks reached 99 and 49 issues were unchanged. All the upticks in the sectors were below one percent, with the financials sector getting an increase of 0.77 percent or 14.06 points to close at 1,834.62.

On the other hand, the property sector finished at 3,148.63 points, increasing by 22.70 points or 0.73 percent. Both the holding firms and the industrials increased to 7,450.34 and 10,949.65, respectively. As for the mining and oil sector, it added 78.81 points or 0.66 to end at 12,051.02. The services sector also climbed 11.02 points or 0.71 points, finishing at the level of 1,563.17.

RCBC Securities, Inc. analyst Jeremy  Yumul said that the PSEi could trade within 7,270-7,360 in the next few days. He added that no significant drivers were expected.

3. The value turnover reached P6.24 billion.

The total value turnover was at P6.24 billion on Monday. It had 1.02 billion shares changing hands, which was down compared to Friday's P9.18 billion. Net foreign buying also ballooned from P4.64 million in the previous session to P647.28 million yesterday.

"We still think the index will trade in the range of 7,250-7,400 this week, without any major leads thus far," Limlingan added.

According to the PSE's official Twitter account, the PSEi is up by 1.31 percent or 96.48 points as of 10:30 am on Tuesday. Its current level is at 7,438.13.
