The Texas-based a capella group Pentatonix (often abbreviated as PTX) is set to perform in Manila for their “Pentatonix World Tour 2016” concert on Saturday. The five-member powerhouse group has already arrived in the country a day before their much-awaited concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

1. Pentatonix brings 2016 World Tour to Manila

The Pentatonix, consisting of Scott Hoying (baritone lead and backing vocals); Mitch Grassi (tenor lead, backing vocals); Kirstin Maldonado (mezzo-soprano lead, backing vocals); Avi Kaplan (vocal bass, bass lead, backing vocals); and Kevin Olusola (vocal percussion, beatboxing, backing vocals, rapping), is bringing their world tour concert to Manila. The concert will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24 beginning 8 pm at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.

2. Playlist to the Pentatonix concert is expected to include original tracks from latest album

The five members of the a capella group are expected to perform songs from their latest self-titled album which are mostly consisted of original tracks. The Philippine Daily Inquirer listed a number of songs that might be included in the playlist, in reference to the group’s recent performance on their Sept. 10 concert in New Zealand. This might include tracks such as “Can’t Sleep Love,” “New Year’s Day” and “Rose Gold.” The concert might also play renditions and medley of a number of hit songs.

3. Tickets to the concert start at P800

Tickets to the concert ranges from P848 for general admission (GA), P1855 (Upper Box), P3710, (Box), P5300 (Patron B), P6360 (Patron A) to P8480 for VIP seats. Passes to the concert can be purchased from TicketNet Online.

4. It will be the second Pentatonix concert in the country

The Sept. 24 concert will be the second event where Pentatonix will perform in the Philippines. The group made their debut show in June 2015 which was also held in the Big Dome. The concert was a big hit which probably prompted the concert promoter CCA Live to bring the vocal quintet back to Manila shores.

5. It will be the sixth concert in the Asian leg of the 2016 Concert

The Manila concert will mark the sixth performance of the group in the Asian leg of their world tour concert this year. Pentatonix has already performed in other Asian countries including Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan and Hongkong. After Manila, the group will fly to South Korea for their final concert in the continent.

The vocal quintet has already set foot in Manila at 11:15 on Friday in preparation for the concert.
