Business tycoon Kazuo Okada’s Tiger Resort Leisure and Entertainment, Inc is set to open the $2.7 billion (P127 billion) Okada Manila gaming resort at the Pagcor Entertainment City in Parañaque by November 2016.

Here are three essential facts about the newest gaming resort in the Philippines.

1. Okada Manila is envisioned to become the largest casino resort in the country.

Okada Manila will have over 3,000 electronic gaming machines and over 500 table games in its 26,410.77 square meters (sqm), or 44 hectare area, The Philippine Daily Inquirer reported.

Aside from that, it will include a Y-shaped hotel with 15 floors, two wings and 993 deluxe rooms. The hotel rooms range in size from 60 sqm deluxe rooms to luxurious 1,400-sqm villas.

2. It will have the biggest dancing fountain in the Philippines.

The resort’s dancing fountain will be the second biggest in the world and the largest one in the country. It will be slightly smaller compared to the Burj Khalifa Lake’s Dubai Fountain at 37,464 sqm, according to Okada Manila's official website.  For comparison, imagine 50 Olympic-sized swimming pools.

3. Okada Manila will have an indoor night club/beach club complex called The Cove.

The Cove is a 90,000 square-feet entertainment venue enclosed in a glass dome. It will have 33 bungalows and cabanas with private jacuzzis, media and karaoke rooms, as well as dining rooms. The Cove’s maximum capacity is 4,500 guests. The beach complex will feature lily pads, daybeds and real white sand. Aside from that, it will also have luxurious shower and locker room facilities.

Plus, it will include a 700-sqm butterfly pool, five bars with artisanal cocktails, two stages, spa facilities, 21 restaurants and 8,409 sqms of shopping area.

“The investment is on time,” Rappler reported Tiger Resort president Steve Wolstenholme as saying at a real estate forum at the Marriot Grand Ballroom in Pasay City.

“We will open our first phase which is a $2.7-billion [facility] at the end of this year,” he said.

“It will be something that is quite spectacular and the most significant investment that is happening in the Philippines,” Wolstenholme added.

Antonio “Tony Boy” Cojuangco Jr, Tiger Resorts board member and Okada’s local partner, said that Okada’s hotel facilities aim to attract both local and foreign tourists as it positions itself to become the best not just in the Philippines, but in Southeast Asia as well.

Okada Manila will be located three kilometers (km) from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) through a newly built direct link.
