Selected banks will still provide services to their clients during the long holidays of the 2016 Holy Week. EastWest Bank, the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) and PSBank (Philippine Savings Bank) announced their banking operations schedules from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday.

Manila Bulletin reports that there will be no banking operations for EastWest Bank on Maundy Thursday, March 24, and Good Friday, March 25. However, the bank’s mall-based offices will be open to service their clients on Black Saturday, March 26, and Easter Sunday, March 27, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. PHT.

EastWest Bank’s mall-based stores that will be open during Holy Week are located in Baclaran, Cebu Park Mall, 168 Mall, 999 Shopping Mall, Greenhills Shopping Center, Bicutan-East Service, Festival Mall-Level 2 and CityPlace Square. The bank’s mall-based office at Greenhills-Promenade will also be open but on Black Saturday only.

“Throughout the Lenten season, EastWest Online and all EastWest ATMs are available to serve customers’ banking needs,” EastWest Bank announced.

Additionally, the bank’s 24/7 Customer Service Metro Manila hotline at 888-1700 and 1-800-1888-8600 (domestic toll-free) will be open for their client’s banking concerns. EastWest Bank’s normal banking operations is scheduled to resume on Monday, March 28.

PSBank has informed its clients through their official website that all of the Philippine Savings Bank branches nationwide will be closed on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday in observance of the 2016 Holy Week. However, the subsidiary savings bank of Metrobank (Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company) announced that all of their 625 ATMs will be online.

PSBank Mobile and Internet banking via PSBank Online will also be available for their client’s banking transactions during the Holy Week. For the bank’s payroll facility, PSBank announced that all of the payroll crediting scheduled on March 24 and 25 will proceed.

Accounts with due dates on the aforementioned holidays for the Automatic Debit Agreement will be debited on the next banking day, March 28. The bank further announced that payments will be valued on the original due date and penalties will not be charged.

For check clearing and settlement, PSBank will suspend the clearing on March 24 and 25. Checks that are dated March 24 and 25 will be processed on Monday, March 28.

PSBank further noted that there will be no penalties charged for the checks intended for PSBank loan payments that are dated March 24 and 25. For time deposits, PSBank announced that maturities on March 24 and 25 will be processed on the next banking day which is on Monday, March 28.

Meanwhile, BPI and BPI Family Savings Bank announced that all branches and kiosks similar to all banks will be closed on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. Normal banking operation will resume on Monday, March 28.

BPI encourages their clients to complete banking transactions ahead of the holidays. According to BPI, payments that are made from March 24 to 27 will be posted to the BPI clients’ accounts on Tuesday, March 29.

“For credit card payments, clients may pay their bills on or before March 23 to ensure posting of their payments before the long weekend,” BPI stated.

BPI further added that a systems maintenance will be performed from March 24 starting at 9 p.m. to March 25, also at 9 p.m. With that, BPI’s 24/7 banking channels such as online, mobile and phone banking (89-100) will be unavailable to clients during this period but transactions through BPI’s ATMs and cash deposit machines will be available.
