“The Voice Kids” Season 2 Finalist Esang de Torres is set to debut in an acclaimed musical on April 8 and 9 at The Theater in Solaire Resort and Casino in Pasay City.

Esang caught the attention of producer Cameron Mackintosh and has been tapped to be one of the alternates for little Cosette in ‘Les Misarables’ show in Manila. Esang is set to sing “Castle on Cloud” while in character.

Esang will join her fellow Filipino singer Rachelle Ann Go, who plays the role of Cossette’s mother, Fantine.

Cosette lives in the house of Thénardiers while her mother works to support her. Later, Fantine passes away and Jean Valjean adopts her as his own.

The young singer told ABS-CBN that she is grateful for the break as she thanked her family and her “The Voice Kids” coach, Lea Salonga.

In response, Salonga cannot contain her excitement and said that she is proud of the child prodigy upon seeing her [Esang] picture as Cossette.

Esang first appearance on TV was when she competed in “It’s Showtime’s Mini Me” segment as mini-Lea Salonga where she caught a considerable amount of attention when she sang “Tomorrow.” Later on, she joined "The Voice Kids" where she finished second to Elha Nympha.

Since its premiere in 1980, "Les Miserables" has gained 125 awards attracting over 70 million people in 44 different countries in 22 languages.
