Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar said that all Tacloban resettlement sites have been installed with water tanks and jetmatic pumps. Read on to know more about it.

3 Things To Know About DPWH's Clean Water Supply to Yolanda Survivors' Resettlement Sites:

 

1. Tacloban North Resettlement has 137 stainless water tanks available for use.

“As promised, all resettlement sites are now provided with water. The Tacloban North Resettlement Site is now equipped with 67 units of 5 cubic meter (m³) and 70 units of two m³ stainless water tanks,” Villar said in a DPWH news statement.

2. Barangay Sto. Niño resettlement sites has 181 jetmatic pumps installed.

DPWH increased the water supply at 17 resettlement sites in Barangay Sto. Niño in Tacloban City by installing 181 jetmatic pumps in the sites. “We are very happy to be able to provide the water tanks on time. It is our duty to ensure that problems are addressed at the shortest possible time,” Villar added.

3. DPWH provides dumps trucks and water tank trucks.

Villar said that the DPWH has provided four units of 10 wheeler dump trucks, five units of six wheeler dump trucks and two units of water tank trucks. DPWH reported that the various resettlement sites had been delivered a total of 4,468 m³ of water. Furthermore, DPWH is expected to supply clean water to 2,841 families.

Meanwhile, Villar added that the DPWH extended all its efforts to provide assistance to the people of Tacloban as part of President Rodrigo Duterte’s order to provide a conducive and permanent resettlement area for people affected by Typhoon Yolanda.
