Coldplay frontman Chris Martin invited Filipino fans to their concert, shortly after it was confirmed that the British rock band will be performing for the first time in Manila.

In a video posted on Facebook by MMI Live, the producer of “A Head Full of Dreams” concert, Chris was seen greeting and inviting fans to their Manila concert on 2017. “Just saying hello and how excited we are as a band to be coming to the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds,” the 39-year old singer-songwriter said.

Pre-sale tickets sold out in six minutes

Apart from the general ticket sale on Nov. 24, Globe Telecom (PSE: GLO) recently hosted a pre-ticket sale on Sunday. However, it may be heartbreaking for many as the 8,000 tickets alloted during the first of the presale dates were sold out in just six minutes.

Those looking forward to score some tickets to the band’s Manila concert will have to try as another pre-sale has been opened on Monday for Citibank cardholders in the country. This will be conducted two days ahead of the general public sale scheduled on Thursday. The pre-sale will last until Tuesday or as soon as the tickets run out.

Coldplay Manila concert

The Coldplay performance in Manila was first announced on Nov. 15. The concert, which will be held at the Mall of Asia concert grounds, is part of the Asian leg of the their album tour. The most sought-after British rock band is also set to perform in four other Asian countries including Singapore, Taiwan, Korea and Japan on the same month.

Ticket prices varies from VIP (P22,500), Platinum (P17,500), Gold (P12,500), Silver (P7,500), Bronze (P3,500) and General Admission (P1,800). These are available at

Coldplay is the rock band behind a number of hits today such as “The Scientist,” “Yellow” and “Fix You.” Formed back in 1996, it has been presented with 62 awards, including seven Grammy wins and more than 200 nominations.
