Bad Bird, a Hole In The Wall favorite, will be opening its first standalone branch at the SM Mega Fashion Hall in February. Read on to learn more about it.
Bad Bird Restaurant
For some time now, Bad Bird has been a famous establishment in the unique eating spot Hole In The Wall in Century City Mall. It is known for its legendary fried chicken that's got serious umami flavor and various levels of spice.
Speaking of spice, Bad Bird is one restaurant that chose to challenge the notion that Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is bad for you. For them, this seasoning is simply "irrationally-feared." Determined to prove people wrong, the restaurant developed a range of their own flavored powders. They extracted some intense and addictive flavors then later concentrated them before infusing it to their signature fried chicken. According to the restaurant, they have since won a number of incredible food awards after serving more than 100,000 fried chicken plates.
Bad Bird Signature Chicken Plates
As far as the fried chicken goes, you can choose your preferred level of spiciness, whether that's safe, spicy or chemical. Once you've figured that out, you can choose from Bad Bird's three signature chicken plates.
There's the Corn and Coleslaw Plate that comes with kimchi coleslaw and corn on a stick with cheese, Kewpie mayonnaise, togarashi and bonito. There's also the Dirty Rice Plate the comes with a choice of plain steamed rice or fried rice that's been mixed with chicken liver, bacon, tamago and bonito. This plate also comes with a serving of kimchi. Finally, there's the Waffle Plate which comes with two pieces of sweet potato waffles that are topped with miso butter and served with maple syrup.
Aside from these plates, customers can also order some Bad Bird Nuggets and their signature Hush Puppies and Wedge Salad. And in case you're still hungry, you can also order extra coleslaw, Dirty Rice, waffles and Corn on a Stick on the side.
Bad Bird's new restaurant will open on the third floor of the SM Mega Fashion Hall in Mandaluyong City.
